In Memphis, a mother is demanding action after her son’s elementary school lost track of him during a class outing. The child, Kovi, is a 3-year-old who is autistic and non-verbal. According to his mother, Shicari Norman, Kovi was taken with his class to a park across from Bruce Elementary for a science experiment but was left behind. Two young men found Kovi and returned him to the school after calling the police. Norman was informed by the school about two hours after her son went missing, which she finds troubling given the potential risks. Memphis Police confirmed they located the child around 9 a.m., but provided limited details. Norman expressed gratitude to the men who found her son, emphasizing that the situation could have been more dangerous due to Kovi’s condition. WREG is seeking responses from the school district but has yet to receive any feedback. (See More)...

In a touching reunion, 60-year-old MTA bus driver Luis Jimenez met with 5-year-old Adaline "Addy" Gonzalez and her family in October, a month after his heroic actions saved her from a perilous situation in Harlem.
On a September morning, Jimenez was driving the M116 cross-town bus when he noticed Addy walking alone on the sidewalk near 106th Street and Broadway. Earlier that day, her pet fish had passed away, prompting her to skip school and venture out to find a new one. This sight immediately alerted Jimenez's protective instincts as a father and grandfather.
Jimenez watched over Addy for about a block before asking a passenger to call 911. He then stopped the bus, contacted his dispatcher, and with the assistance of other passengers, ensured Addy's safe boarding until the police arrived. The police had been searching for her after her school reported her missing, and thanks to Jimenez's swift response, she was safely reunited with her family.
The October reunion was filled with joy and gratitude. Addy expressed her deep thanks to Jimenez, calling him her "hero" and saying, "Thank you, Luis, for being my hero and saving my life." During the reunion, Jimenez gifted Addy a new goldfish, which she named "Luis" in his honor. She was thrilled and described the moment as "perfect."
The Gonzalez family also showed their appreciation by presenting Jimenez with a special New York Jets hat that read "Addy's Hero." The reunion was a celebration of Jimenez's selfless act and the safe return of the young girl, highlighting the importance of community and kindness.

Indiana Mom Opens Hospital Beauty Bar to Support NICU Parents
Sarah Pulley, a 34-year-old hair salon owner from Carmel, Indiana, has launched a unique initiative to support parents of high-risk newborns by opening a beauty bar within a hospital. This endeavor is deeply personal for Pulley, who has firsthand experience with the challenges of having a premature baby.
Four years ago, Pulley's daughter, Amelia, was born prematurely and spent four months in the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) of two different hospitals in Indianapolis. When Amelia contracted a virus, she was transferred to Riley Children’s Health, a place that became all too familiar for the Pulley family.
Pulley's experience in the NICU has driven her to give back to other families going through similar ordeals. Last year, she began volunteering as a guest services volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Riley Children’s Health, a program under the global nonprofit Ronald McDonald House Charities. This organization provides critical support to families of sick children through various programs, including housing near hospitals, family rooms within hospitals for eating and showering, and mobile health care services for deserving communities.
