In Memphis, a mother is demanding action after her son’s elementary school lost track of him during a class outing. The child, Kovi, is a 3-year-old who is autistic and non-verbal. According to his mother, Shicari Norman, Kovi was taken with his class to a park across from Bruce Elementary for a science experiment but was left behind. Two young men found Kovi and returned him to the school after calling the police. Norman was informed by the school about two hours after her son went missing, which she finds troubling given the potential risks. Memphis Police confirmed they located the child around 9 a.m., but provided limited details. Norman expressed gratitude to the men who found her son, emphasizing that the situation could have been more dangerous due to Kovi’s condition. WREG is seeking responses from the school district but has yet to receive any feedback.
